Pezeshkian stated that Iran has no dispute with the UAE or other neighbouring countries but strongly opposes the presence of US military bases in the region. Iran sees BRICS as an opportunity to strengthen its economy amid Western sanctions. Tehran wants greater economic cooperation with BRICS countries, including increased use of local currencies in trade to reduce dependence on the US dollar. Iran has also expressed interest in a common BRICS currency that could challenge the dollar, although no decision has been taken on creating a single BRICS currency. India has clarified that it does not support replacing the dollar with a BRICS currency, while supporting greater trade in local currencies.</p>
