'We Understand Importance Of US': Zelensky Drops Video After Tense Oval Office Exchange

<p>Days After a verbal spat with US President Donald Trump at the Oval Office, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dropped a video message expressing gratitude to the US on his social media handle. &nbsp;</p> <p>"Of course, we understand the importance of America, and we are grateful for all the support we&rsquo;ve received from the United States. There has not been a day when we haven&rsquo;t felt gratitude," Zelensky said in a 2-minute video. He also expressed gratitude for the preservation of Ukraine's independence.&nbsp;</p> <p>"Our resilience in Ukraine is based on what our partners are doing for us &ndash; and for their own security. What we need is peace, not endless war. And that&rsquo;s why we say security guarantees are the key to this," he added.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Ukrainian leader said everyone is united on the main issue &ndash; for peace to be real, we need real security guarantees. "And this is the position of all of Europe &ndash; the entire continent. The United Kingdom, the European Union, T&uuml;rkiye," he added.</p> <h2><strong>Ready To Sign Minerals Deal With US: Zelensky</strong></h2> <p>Earlier, Zelensky told BBC he was still "ready to sign" a US-Ukraine minerals deal after leaving the White House without it being agreed.</p> <p>Despite a fractious meeting with Trump last week, Zelensky said he was willing to have a "constructive dialogue" with the US. He said, "I just want the Ukrainian position to be heard."</p> <p>"We want our partners to remember who the aggressor is in this war," he told reporters.</p> <p>The Ukrainian leader was told to leave without the deal being signed after the heated exchange between him, Trump and US Vice-President JD Vance.&nbsp;</p>
